I think that it really depends on how many parts you are going to replace with new parts. For example, if you are going to buy new or aftermarket turbos, clutch, flywheel, intercoolers, radiator, hardpipes then buying a front clip starts to look like less of a bargain. BTW I am currently doing a "high compression with moderate boost" street car using my NA motor and stock turbos similar to the one that Z1 built a few years back. If I decide I need more boost, and can deal with the lag, I will have the pistons changed out in my existing motor. I am more comfortable with this because I know my NA motor, and its mileage and service history and the motor is quite strong.
